If things are not working properly on your Android TV (set-top box or software installed on your television), it might be time to restart. Simply restarting your device can often solve the problem you’re having. Here’s how to do it.
If you use electronics, you know that the general “shutdown and back on” advice often works. This also applies to Android TV devices. Sometimes a simple restart can make a big difference. It’s very easy to do.
First, use the D-pad on your remote to select the customizable “Gear” icon in the upper right corner of the TV Home screen.
The Settings menu will open. Some Android TV devices have a “Quick Settings” section at the top that includes “Restart”. If you have options, select and you’re done.
If you don’t have a “Quick Settings” section, there are a few extra steps. First, scroll down and select “Device Preferences”.
Next, click “About”.
Now you will see a “Restart” option. Choose to restart your Android TV.
The television will turn off for a moment and then you will see the boot animation when it turns on again. There she is!
