The Calm app offers a variety of meditations, sleep music, soothing sounds, and great bedtime stories. The great thing about this app is the option that allows you to download content for offline listening. You can find similar options on various music and video streaming services. So, to listen to your favorite bedtime story or the soothing sounds of rain or sea, you don’t have to be connected to the Internet. You simply download the content by tapping the special “download” icon and the content will be ready for you even when you are offline. However, if you don’t have an unlimited data plan, you should download content only when you are using Wi-Fi. Here, we will show you how to disable mobile downloads in the Calm app on Android.
How to disable mobile downloads in the Calm app on Android
Once you enable this option, you don’t have to worry about downloads anymore. You won’t be able to download content via mobile and you will avoid additional costs. Here’s how to activate the option:
- Open the Calm app on your Android smartphone or tablet
- Next, tap on the More button at the bottom right corner of the screen
- Now tap on Settings
- Scroll down until you find “Download by mobile”. As you can see, this option is enabled by default
- To turn it off, just tap on the switch right next to it
That is all. From now on, you can only download content while on a Wi-Fi network. If at any time you switch to an unlimited data plan, you can activate “Download via mobile” by following the steps we have listed here.
